One of the most beautiful places I have lived was in the rolling hills and horse country of Western New Jersey. Back in 1973, I purchased a small one-bedroom home on 17 acres of land in Mendham, NJ.
This was my first opportunity to try out my space planning, design, and construction skills.
Over a period of 2 years, I essentially gutted, rebuilt, and added on to create a very special home for myself, soon-to-be wife Nanette, and two sons. I planted trees, cut walking pathways to the pond, and created a sculpture garden with the work of the artists I represented from the Southwest.
